Buy Blu ray! The Panasonic DMP-BD60 1080p Blu-ray Disc Player streams YouTube into your home theater!

Over the weekend, I was browsing through my local home electronic store looking for a device to stream my music without iTunes running until I was distracted by the Panasonic DMP-BD60 1080p Blu-ray Disc Player, Black. I have started to get the itch to buy a Blu-ray player and this particular one called to me. I will just need to share my vision of a 1080p home theater system and somehow compromise with my wife to buy Blu-ray. (A husband's top 5 goal is to strive for a peaceful home. Just some free advice to my married and soon to be married readers). I watched the demo for a few minutes then started looking at the connections and some of the literature. There were three things that stood out for the Panasonic Blu-ray DVD player:

1. I would be able to get as close to the movie theater experience in my home theater,
2. View Internet content such as YouTube or Amazon VOD through my home network, and
3. In a pinch, see or hear various content through the SD Memory card slot and USB port.

DVD players have come a long way from being able to play only DVD/CD to now being a part of your home computer network!

The whole point of purchasing home theater components is to create an environment that will bring you and I as close to the the movie theater experience in our own home. Whether your screen is 32" or 120", you want the image to remind you of the movie theater or be as close to that theater experience as possible even if the size is not there. I'm a fan of 720p as my current cable provider will do 720p/1080i but I do notice a difference on a 1080p monitor with 1080p content. When you buy a Blu-ray player, you will achieve that stunning image.

With routers and network connectivity within your home, you would want your home theater components to be connected, right?
